Divorce is a fact of our culture. The divorce rate has decreased in recent years, but usually increases in more difficult economic times such as we are facing now. According to Americans for Divorce Reform, the divorce rate will soon reach 50% if current trends continue.

Couples age 20 to 24 have the highest divorce rate and those between 35 and 39 have the lowest. First marriages have a 50 percent chance of ending in divorce, second marriages a 67 percent chance and third marriages a 74 percent chance. Whatever the circumstances, divorce can be devastating for a family.

How a couple approaches divorce can greatly impact the outcome of the case and the ongoing co-parenting relationship.
